En azia listgrupo aperis multaj retmesaĝoj plenplene de kondolencoj kaj bedaŭroj pri la katastrofo. Esperanto-USA donis unu el la plej fruaj tiaj mesaĝoj post la tertremo.

Learn Esperanto as a group

Learning with a group has huge advantages, but how can you do that if you are alone, don't have a class, or perhaps are the only beginner in your club?

You can go to lernu.net and click on "Learn Esperanto as a group." Join the study group, and you can cover one lesson of Ana Pana or Ana Rakontas each week. Everyone is welcome. Use the lernu.net site. Get a username and password if you don't have one, and you can pick English as the base language for the site.

Montreal 2008 and Saint Louis 2009

The board of Esperanto-USA has just approved a proposal that our Landa Kongreso for 2009 will be in Saint Louis, May 22-25, 2009. Mark the dates now.

So we will see you in Montreal this July, when we meet jointly with TAKE (The All American Esperanto Congress), and then next year in Saint Louis.

Also keep in mind various other events, such as regional meetings. Click at the left on Calendar / Events.

Citizenship in the World

The scout requirements for the Citizenship in the World merit badge have changed effective Jan 1, 2006. The current requirements for the merit badge are here, and the old requirements are here. Notice the change at the end, where the option to study a foreign language has been removed.

Dear Members

The new issue of our newsletter will soon arrive at your mailbox (or maybe has already done so). Unfortunately, you will find many printing errors in it. The printer in Florida sent us a good proof, but afterwards something bad happened during the mass printing. Almost all of the special letters were malformed.

Liaj verkoj, liaj konsiloj pri la rilato kun neesperantistoj, liaj prelegoj, lia amikema maniero donis multe al la movado kaj al niaj ĝuoj kaj agadoj. Lia forpaso estas granda perdo, kaj ni memoros lin ĉiame.
