Legante la nunan bultenon ELNA-n, mi trovis du vorton kiujn mi ne komprenas. La du vortoj estas: aferkunsido kaj hurŝiko. Kion signifas ĉi tiuj vortoj?

Jorge Camacho, a famous author of original Esperanto works who is often mentioned as the best living Esperanto prose writer, has donated three of his published books to Project Gutenberg.
I've place his signed letter (redakted)
here. It is my intention to submit this letter to PG, and, if it is approved (which is very likely), to process the books into the required format, which should take perhaps 5 hours for each book.

Just found today that one book is done and another underway! Haven't listened yet— it's a slow connection (always is, per my experience) and I'm currently still downloading— so I can't vouch for the quality yet. Sed, jen!

HUMILITY IN JAPAN
This nation (Japan), as a whole, certainly has this concept down. Much different from the "to each their own" philosophy held by the general population of the United States and a bit of a cultural shock, to be completely truthful.
Mi vidis belan artikolon pri Esperanto kaj la IJK ĵus finita en Hanojo. La subskribo de la artikolo diras ke la aŭtoro, Esther Schor, nun verkas libron pri Esperanto. Interese! Jam multaj komentoj ĉe la artikolo montras ke mi trovas ĝin semajno post la resto de la mondo. Nu -- mi okupiĝas lastatempe.
Dimanĉe, la 26-a de aŭgusto, Esperantistoj el the areo metropola de Vaŝingtono, Distrikto de Kolumbio, kuniĝis ĉe Cosi, kafejo sur Capital Hill (Monteto Ĉefurba), por babili kaj trinki kafon. Temoj diskutitaj inkludis la Landan Kongreson de ELNA en Tihuana, la lingvon Gealan kaj la vidon en Japanio. La sekva kafkuniĝo okazos la 30-a de septembro. Ankaŭ ni planas marŝadon laŭ la C&O kanalo proksime al Great Falls (Akvofaloj Grandaj), eble la 23-a de septembro. Krome ni volas komenci grupon por diskuti librojn.
Kaj d-ro READ kaj mi eldonis artikolojn ĉe Libera Folio en la pasinta tago. Mi verkis mallongan raporton pri la Landa Kongreso. Multe pli ol tio, mi ĝojis vidi ke la artikolo pri Projekto Gutenberg finfine eldoniĝis -- sed eĉ pli ol tio ke ĝi jam havis gravan efikon: Jorge Camacho konsentis lasi siajn verkojn aperu en Projekto Gutenberg!
This is a request for help designing an ad.
Esperanto-USA recently bought an ad in a magazine, "The American Prospect". The results were somewhat disappointing. I think we got between 50 and 100 hits due to the ad, and at least one request for information.
Having our ad in a mainstream magazine is good marketing for us; however, we would hope for better results.
We would therefore now like to design an ad aimed specifically at language instructors. This is part of our overall plan to try to discover the best possible avenue for advertising.
