Studies frozen in snow (but not forever)
Once again my work life (two jobs, as with so many others in the world) has interfered with my Esperanto studies and plans. I was finally able to force a break to visit lernu!, which I hadn't done in a while... and I was pleasantly surprised to see one special component of the 2010 Summer Esperanto Study this July in Slovakia: a "Instigi Kreemon" (inspire creativity) seminar:

Does anyone know how long I've waited for someone to propose this?
"Don't you sometimes get the impression that the Esperanto movement is always coming up with the same, or very similar, projects and ideas, again and again? It's obvious that we need to change that and find a whole new way of thinking. That's why we're going to meet up to inspire our creativity, to think up new ideas and projects, and also to learn how we can spread that creativity to others. You can expect the unexpected, because the seminar will depend on its participants and it aims to leave familiar themes behind."
It's a shame that I can't do any foreign travel for a while, but this is something I'd love to see replicated in the States. You want Esperanto to grow and thrive, you gotta get new ideas. And as often as you can.
Is anyone from E–USA going?

I went to SES last year (living in Poland, I'm conveniently close). I enjoyed it a lot, and I really recommend it. It was an unusual mix of friendly fun (e.g. with live concerts almost every night) and serious learning (language classes every morning). This summer there are (as always) too many conflicting events attracting my attention, and I've not yet decided which ones I'm going to.

Then again, you could just stay home and study calculus:)

Kio okazas se oni mastris la kalkulon? Eble oni konkeras la biokemion? (Mi kredas, ke Limako estas biokemispertulo...)
What if you've mastered Calculus? Maybe conquer Biochemistry?

Knowing calculus makes it easier to get an engineering job.
Question: What did the art graduate say to the engineering graduate?
Answer: “Would you like fries with your order, Sir?”
