kampanjo por la jaro

Phil Dorcas recently sent a message to some EUSA mailing lists, noting two important things happening soon and asking for ideas and suggestions, what are you doing, what can we do, how can we help each other...

  1. December 15, 2009, is Zamenhof's 150th birthday.
  2. Our national congress for 2010 will be held in Washington, D.C., 100 years after Zamenhof himself participated in the 6th (or was it the 5th?) UK in that very city.

Spread the word and collaborate

I think for the 2010 congress, a good idea would be to collaborate with local libraries, and other prominent places that serve the public and set up attractive exhibits to spread the word about the congress (and Esperanto.) Tell the newspapers, radio station and news agencies. Do the whole nine yards, make a huge attempt at public relations. The goal should be to, if not get people from Washington D.C. to show up, at least get the average guy on the street to have heard of the Congress.

Google Doodle

I would love to see an Esperanto Google Doodle on Zamenhof's birthday. That would be some good advertising!
