How to use this site as a Local Club

Local clubs are one of the most productive and fun ways to practice Esperanto.

If you are a local club, you can use this site to:

  • To create content that you can use as a "home page" for your club, or to promote a specific event,
  • Create stories that will be visible to all of ELNA,
  • Create a weblog specifically for your club.
  • Read, use, and contribute to the collaborative online book Handbook for Local Groups.

To do this, you just need to have someone in your club who is a member of ELNA, or ask the administrator of this site for a club account. A responsible member of your club can then post under your club account.

ELNA is thus allowing every local club in the USA to create a website here free of both charge and hassle.

How to create a webpage here for your local group

  1. Print these instructions, so you will have them when you are creating your webpage. Do this by selecting File and Print in most Internet browsers.
  2. Log in (enter your user-name and password at the left).
  3. At the bottom of the page click on Create Child Page.
  4. In the middle, you will see a form for entering text. Type in a title, typically the name of your club, and type text in the big box. Enter information about your club, where you meet, when you meet, how to get in touch, etc.
  5. Below the box is a multiple-choice list for Input Format. If you entered any Esperanto text using the x-method, select x-method Esperanto, otherwise, select filtered HTML.
  6. Click on Preview.
  7. Proofread the text. Edit the text as needed, and finally press Submit.
  8. Look at the URL (web address) for the page just created. Write it down, or copy it by highlighting it and pressing Ctrl-C.
  9. Edit the page for local groups in the same way and add the link to your new webpage. If you can't do this, please contact an administrator, give them the webpage URL, and have them edit the local groups listing for you.

You can then access your webpage via that URL, or via the local groups page when it is all set up.

If these instructions are not clear enough, or if you have trouble with your webpage, contact an administrator for help. We want to help you and your club.
