I've been looking for a good Esperanto equivalent for "foot–in–mouth disease" — the verb "fuŝparoli" is the closest I've gotten — ever since I read this item on Libera Folio quoting Czech Republic President Václav Klaus on the European Union's doomed Lisbon Treaty…

Feliĉan Datrevenon, Esperanto!

Hodiaŭ, la 26-a de julio, estas la 120-a naskiĝtago de la lingvo Esperanto. En tiu dato en la jaro 1887, la rusa eldono de la Unua Libro de L.L. Zamenhof aperis.

Ĉi tie en Usono, la prezidento estis Grover Cleveland; ne ekzistis la aviadilo, kaj ĵus estis inventataj la aŭtomobilo kaj la elektra lumigilo.

Ĉi tiu jaro ankaŭ estas la 100-a naskiĝtago de la eldono de la unua Esperanta romano: Kastelo de Prelongo de Henri Vallienne (1907).
