Esperantistoj kompreneble fieras pri la fakto, ke jam aperis en Vikipedio pli ol 100,000 artikoloj en Esperanto.
Fakte, laŭ la lastatempaj statistkoj, estas 100,628 en Vikipedio.

Tamen, laŭ la sama statistiko, estas 117,290 artikoloj en Vükiped, la Volapüka versio de Vikipedio!

Estas konata, ke estas preskaŭ 20-30 parolantoj de Volapük en la mondo. Do, kiel ĉi tiu eta aro de homoj povas skribi tiel grandan kvanton de artikoloj?

Dorothy Holland requested the following announcement:

Every year the Central Office collects reports from E-USA committee heads and commisioners, and publishes them in a booklet which is distributed at the Annual Convention.

This year the reports are available online.

(I am writing this in English, because enthusiastic beginners may gets some ideas from this project.)

The project is called 'A Language Festival'. Here is a summary:
1. Find a large room to hold the festival
2. Invite some people to each make a 15-minute presentation about a language other than English. That is, one person will present French, another Russian, etc.
3. Invite the general public to attend and listen to these presentations about various languages.

I sent a press release to my local newspaper about my trip to the UK in Florence, Italy. I must have done something right, because a reporter contacted me, interviewed me over the phone, and wrote a half-page article about Esperanto. The article was objective, mostly positive, and mentioned the ELNA website.

In my press release, I stressed the fact that I live in Portland [Maine] and that I was the representative from Maine to the World Esperanto Congress (by default, since no other resident of Maine would be going to the congress).

In my opinion, it is critical to give the press release a local slant. Newspapers are unabashedly parochial, probably because their readers are also.
