Ekzistas nova reĝisoro ĉe YouTube (kaj ankaŭ ipernity)

Mi nun estas sendependa video–reĝisoro. Bv. regardi la pruvon…

It has happened, folks. My first video employing Esperanto (in the intertitles and supertitles) is up for the viewing now:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCUePNpgOBw

It is also up on my ipernity page (yes, I now have one):

… on Multiply:

…and on my blog for the wacky and whacked–out (as well as the occasionally serious items):

I'm going out on a limb with this for one big reason: I need the practice, and I can use the suggestions, corrections, and guidance as I go along.

The original video had some mistakes in the supertitles (during the final sequence) which have now been fixed. I also did some mild trimming here and there, which shaved thirty seconds off the running time.

And not a moment too soon: I was recently linked on nothing less than… Klaku. Good — I now have a Klaku account, so I can announce new pieces when they're ready.

One Klaku user who commented liked the video and wants more.

Hmmm…

Snuggles

(La KD reaperis kun la titolo These Guys Are from England and Who Gives a…[sakraĵo]. Evidente ĝi ne taŭgas por infanoj…)

Pro kio "Snuggles"? Nun, vi povus demandi al Don Joyce el Negativland (kaj la radio–programo Over the Edge ĉe KPFA–FM) — sed ne al Casey Kasem…

Kaj jes, mi konfesas… mi ŝatas aŭskulti al Negativland, kaj ankaŭ People Like Us (Vicki Bennett), Fortyone, kaj certe John Oswald.

Kion mi povas fari? Mi estas homa.

Really interesting

It's really interesting -- my only real suggestion would be to reduce the amount of time you show the initial logo and the stuff at the end -- maybe play some other music at the end, so its not quite so stark. One other thing: where you show stills, you might have better luck with the zoom-and-pan plugins, so it's not quite so static. A really nice piece of work! Very intriguing.

It will need some fixing, anyway

Elkoran dankon... Maybe the "Steletoj" opening could use a slight trimming.

I've learned a lot from using iMovie thus far, but I've yet to master the "Ken Burns effect." Hopefully I can work that into future videos.

As for the closing, I couldn't think of an appropriate piece of music to close with... although I could use a short stretch of "street" soundtrack from the raw footage. Just not too loud (think the close of Godfrey Reggio's Koyaanisqatsi). That might work.

In any event, the video needs a fix, because of two supertitle typos that one eagle–eyed YouTube Esperantist spotted in the Kucinich section. So I hope to get the fixes worked in over the weekend.

Thankfully, I still have the raw files and the iMovie and Miyu projects saved.

I'll amend the original post with new URLs when the current video is replaced.

The revised version is up now

Right, the revised video is up now and should show some improvement.

I wasn't able to come up with some suitable music to play over the end credits for this one, so I'm not going to obsess over it for eternity. It's enough that I am trying to appease my inner Damon Packard — especially when your source music is from the Free Speech for Sale mashup project…
