La filmkonkurso de Esperanto-USA revenas kaj okazas nun! Ni feliĉe rebonvenigas Catie Neilson kiel la festival-estron kaj ni aprezas la financan subtenon kaj la bonkoran kontribuon de Brandon Dyer, kiu estas la ĉefa sponsoro de la ĉi-jara konkurso nome de sia projekto www.ana.so.

La Usona Bona Film-Festivalo instigas homojn krei filmojn en la planlingvo Esperanto, kiu kreiĝis en 1887 por esti la plej facile lernebla lingvo en la mondo. Kvin ĵurianoj elektitaj de la estro taksos ĉiujn filmojn, kaj premios la dek kiujn ili taksas plej indaj. La filmo kiu ricevos la plej multajn “ŝatojn” en Jutubo ankaŭ ricevos apartan premion.

Ĉiuj rajtas konkursi kaj partopreno estas senpaga. La filmoj devas esti malpli ol kvin minutojn longaj kaj tute en Esperanto kun almenaŭ dek unikaj parolataj vortoj. Krome, la postulata rekvizito devas esti videbla ie en la filmo (por certigi ke la filmo estu nove kreita por ĉi tiu konkurso). La postulata rekvizito ĉi-foje estas botelo.

Dum pasintaj festivaloj, preskaŭ ĉiu ensendita filmo estis montrita en nia Jutubo kanalo. Por eviti la prezenton de filmoj kun malbonkvalita sono, aŭ malĝusta gramatiko aŭ fuŝa prononcado, la antaŭa estro helpis multajn reĝisorojn pri tradukado, sonmuntado, kaj aliaj plibonigoj. Pro la sukceso kaj kresko de la festivalo, tia helpado jam ne plu prudentas. Pro kresko en la kvanto da ricevitaj filmoj, ni nun povas esti pli elektemaj pri kiuj filmoj estos akceptitaj. La ĵurianoj decidos kiujn el la ricevitaj filmoj akcepti en la konkurson. Por tiuj filmoj, kiuj ne akceptiĝos kaj aperos en nia kanalo, ni bonvenigas la reĝisorojn konkursigi tiujn filmojn en aliaj festivaloj.

Ĉi-jare, ni ankaŭ postulas ke ĉiu reĝisoro sendu apartan dosieron de Esperantaj subtitoloj (aŭ subteksto). En la pasinteco, la festival-estro kaj kelkaj aliaj volontuloj mem tajpis kaj aranĝis subtitolojn por ĉiu filmo post la fina limdato. Tio postulis multe da laboro flanke de la festival-estro, kaj prokrastigis la aperon de la filmoj en JuTubo kaj sekve la anoncon de la gajnintoj. La nova postulo dividos la laboron pli efike kaj rapidigos la ricevon de premioj. Por plena listo de konkursaj reguloj kaj helpaj rimedoj, legu pli sube.

  1. KIEL KONKURSI: Ĉiu konkursanto sendu retpoŝton kun temlinio “EPO107 – Nomo de reĝisoro” (ekzemple, “EPO107 – John Smith”) al filmfestivalo@esperanto-usa.org. Enmetu ĉi tiujn informojn:

    Alkroĉu al la mesaĝo vian skripton, la subtitolan dosieron, kaj ĉiujn bezonatajn dokumentojn (ekz. permesilon por aperigi aktorojn en via filmo). Sendante tiun mesaĝon, vi indikas, ke vi oficiale konkursas.
  2. KIEL SENDI VIAN FILMON: Sendu dosieron en MP4- aŭ MOV-formo elektronike al filmfestivalo@esperanto-usa.org per Google Drive, Dropbox, aŭ WeTransfer. Se via filmo sendiĝas kun alia ligita retadreso malsame ol tiu uzita por sendi vian aliĝilan retpoŝton, bonvolu indiki ambaŭ retadresojn aŭ informi nin pri la uzita retadreso. Se ni ne povas ligi vian aliĝilan retpoŝton al via filmo pro malsamaj retadresoj, kaj vi ne informis nin pri tio, ni ne povos akcepti vian filmon en la konkurson.
  3. LIMDATO: La limdato por sendi vian filmon estas la 23:59 (laŭ la orienta horzono de Usono) la 10-an de oktobro, 2025. Ni eventuale akceptos filmojn senditajn post la limdato, sed nur por montri ilin; ili ne rajtos gajni premion.
  4. TITOLO KAJ NOMO DE LA FILMO: La dosiero havu nomon laŭ la jena formo: EPO107_TitoloDeLaFilmo.MP4 (do por filmo nomita La Ĉapelo kaj eksportita en MOV-formo, la dosiero nomiĝu EPO107_La_Ĉapelo.MOV). Ankaŭ la titolo estu en Esperanto (Lydia, ekzemple, kiu uzas la ne-Esperantan literon y, ne estus akceptebla, sed Lidia estus en ordo).
  5. DIALOGOJ: Ĉiuj dialogoj estu en gramatike ĝusta Esperanto, kaj vi devas uzi almenaŭ dek aŭdeblajn Esperanto-vortojn en la filmo. Propraj nomoj kaj ripetiĝoj ne enkalkuliĝos. La filmo estu plene komprenebla al iu, kiu nur parolas Esperanton.
  6. LA POSTULATA REKVIZITO: Kulero nepre estu klare videbla ie en la filmo. Ne necesas mencii ĝin en la dialogo; ĝi nur devas esti videbla.
  7. ORIENTIĜO DE LA FILMO: Uzu horizontalan orientiĝon, ne vertikalan.
  8. DISTINGIVO: La distingivo estu almenaŭ 1280 x 720 rastrumeroj (sed ni preferus 1920 x 1080 aŭ 3840 x 2160).
  9. BILDRAPIDO: Uzu NTSC-bildrapidon (anstataŭ PAL) de po 23.98, 24, aŭ 30 bildoj sekunde.
  10. LONGO DE LA FILMO: La tuta filmo, inkluzive de fina atribuo-listo (angle, credits) estu ne pli ol kvin minutojn longa. Ne estas minimuma longo.
  11. SUBTITOLOJ: Subtitoloj NE aperu rekte en via filmo. Nia celo estas helpi lernantojn ekzerci sin pri aŭskultado. Vi devas sendi al ni subtitolojn en SRT- aŭ SBV-dosieroj en Esperanto, kiujn ni aparte alŝutos kaj ili estos elekteblaj. Uzu la ĉapelitajn Esperantajn literojn (Ĉ, Ĝ, Ĥ, Ĵ, Ŝ, Ŭ, ĉ, ĝ, ĥ, ĵ, ŝ, ŭ). Ne uzu alian sistemon, kiel la X-sistemo (Cx, Gx, ktp.) aŭ la H-sistemo en viaj subtitoloj. Se vi ne sendas subtitolan doserion, via filmo ne estos akceptita en la konkurson. Vi povas, sed ne devas, sendi aldonajn subtitolajn dosierojn en pliaj lingvoj (la angla, la hispana, via denaska lingvo). La Jutuba kanalo de Esperanto-USA prezentos videon por montri kiel krei subtitolan dosieron se vi bezonas helpon.
  12. ALDONU VIAN SKRIPTON: Sendu ankaŭ la tutan dialogon de la filmo en PDF-formo. Tiel la ĵuĝantoj povos kompreni parolon eble neklaran. (La dosiero havu nomon laŭ la formo EPO107_TitoloDeLaFilmo_Skripto.pdf).
  13. ATRIBUOJ: Kvankam la titolo kaj dialogo devas esti en Esperanto, la atribu-listo povas esti en iu ajn lingvo kaj ne necesas eĉ prezenti tian liston. Vi rajtas decidi ĉu atribui aŭ ne. Pro tio ke iuj kulturoj metas la familian nomon antaŭ ol la persona nomo, en Esperanto oni kutime uzas majusklajn literojn por la familia nomo (ekzemple, Mary Tyler MOORE kaj YANG Huaili). Uzu tion laŭvole por distingi inter familiaj nomoj kaj personaj. Notu, ke en filmfarado Reĝisoro estras la aferon kaj Muntisto kunmetas la scenojn. Ne uzu vortojn kiel Direktoro, Redaktoro, aŭ Editoro por tiuj roloj.
  14. ANIMACIAJ FILMOJ: Vi povas uzi pupojn, figuretojn, aŭ aliajn animaciaĵojn anstataŭ aktorojn. La rekvizito postulata povas esti animacia. La samaj homoj povas aperi en, aŭ labori pri, pluraj filmoj, sed ĉiu filmo nepre devas havi apartan reĝisoron (tio signifas, ke neniu rajtas listiĝi kiel reĝisoro por pli ol unu filmo), kaj nur tiu reĝisoro ricevos premion, se la filmo gajnos.
  15. AKTORAJ PERMESILOJ: Subskribitaj permesiloj necesas por ĉiu aktoro kiu aperas (aŭ kies voĉoj aŭdeblas) en la filmo. Uzu la saman dokmenton kun muzikisto por aldoni originalan muzikon kun kopirajtoj. Por aktoroj kun malpli ol 18 jaroj, patr(in)o aŭ laŭleĝa prizorganto devas prokure subskribi permesilon. Permesiloj ne estas bezonataj por nerekoneblaj homoj, ekzemple en homamaso, aŭ en pasantaj aŭtoj. Nomu la dosierojn laŭ la formo EPO107_TitoloDeLaFilmo_AktoraPermesilo1.pdf por la unua aktoro, …AktoraPermesilo2.pdf por la dua, kaj tiel plu. Elŝuti la permesilon. Oni povas presi, subskribi, kaj skani la dokumenton aŭ plenigi ĝin elektronike per senpaga programo kiel LibreOffice Draw.
  16. MALDECAĴOJ: La juĝantoj rezervas rajton ekskludi filmojn, kiujn ili taksas tro perfortaj, ofendaj, trivialaj, aŭ se ili eksplicite montras seksrilatojn. Tiaj filmoj ne aperos en la komunikiloj de Esperanto-USA. Sendu retpoŝtmesaĝon al filmfestivalo@esperanto-usa.org por kontroli, ĉu specifa vorto aŭ sceno estus malpermesata.
  17. NENIAM ANTAŬE PUBLIKIGITA: La filmo ne estu rete trovebla antaŭ ol la fino de la konkurso. Ne alŝutu ĝin publike al YouTube, ktp., antaŭ ol la fina anonco pri la gajnintoj!
  18. PERMESU AL NI MONTRI VIAN FILMON: Sendinte al ni filmon, vi donas al ni permeson prezenti ĝin en la diversaj komunikiloj de Esperanto-USA – kiel ekzemple niaj paĝoj en YouTube kaj Vimeo – kaj vi asertas, ke vi posedas ĉiujn rajtojn necesajn por permesi tion. Esperanto-USA ankaŭ rajtos uzi elĉerpaĵojn de la filmoj en niaj reklamoj kaj estontaj filmkonkursoj. Vi retenas posedon de la filmo, kaj vi rajtas afiŝi ĝin aliloke, sed nur post la publikigo de la finaj decidoj de la juĝantoj.
  19. KOPIRAJTITAJ MATERIALOJ KAJ VARMARKOJ: Neniaj kopirajtitaj materialoj estu videblaj aŭ aŭdeblaj en la filmo, krom se la filmfaranto prezentas ĉiujn necesajn permesilojn. Vi rajtas uzi materialojn de Krea Komunumo, sed ĉiuj necesaj atribuoj devas aperi fine de la filmo. Akcesora prezento de var-markoj (ekz. la emblemo de Nike sur vestaĵo, aŭ de Toyota sur aŭto) estas en ordo, sed nur se la prezento ne estas negativa aŭ misgvida. Kontraste, sen permesilo vi ne rajtas prezenti rolulon en kostumo de Spiderman, aŭ ludi kanton de The Beatles.   20. PUBLIKA HAVAĴO: Vi rajtas uzi materialojn ne plu kopirajtitajn en Usono. Tio signifas, verkoj eldonitaj aŭ publikigitaj antaŭ 1929. Ekzemple, vi rajtus scenigi ion el Hamleto (eldonita de Zamenhof en 1894) aŭ La Revizoro (eldonita en 1907).
  21. IMPOSTOJ: Ricevintoj de kontantaj premioj sole respondecos pri pago de ĉiuj lokaj, ŝtataj, kaj landaj impostoj. Iujn ajn kostojn de reta pagado ni subtrahos de la premia sumo.
  22. PRI GRAMATIKO: La gvidiloj por akceptebla gramatiko estas PMEG 2020, PIV 2020, kaj la English-Esperanto Dictionary (2010) de John C. Wells. Neoficialaj vortoj kiel ri kaj ria estas akcepteblaj, sed ne vortoj aŭ strukturoj markitaj kiel “evitindaj” per asterisko en PMEG 2020 (kiel far aŭ graŭ) krom se rolulo rekte komentas, ke la esprimo estas nekutima aŭ malĝusta. Por trovi gramatikajn konsilojn de spertuloj, uzu la grupon Duolingo Esperanto Learners ĉe Facebook, sed se estas ia dubo, nur uzu vorton aŭ frazon kiu troveblas en almenaŭ unu el la tri unuaj supraj rimedoj (PMEG, PIV, kaj Wells).
  23. KIEL ONI JUĜAS LA FILMOJN: La 5 juĝantoj (ĵurianoj) individue faros listojn de siaj plej ŝatataj filmoj kaj tiuj filmoj ricevos poentojn. Ekzemple, la plej ŝatata filmo ricevos 10 poentojn, la dua plej ŝatata ricevos 9, kaj tiel plu, ĝis la 10-a plej ŝatata ricevas unu poenton. La filmoj kun la plej multe da poentoj en tiuj kvin listoj estos la gajnantoj. Ili juĝos la filmojn sen subtitoloj, do certigu ke via dialogo estu aŭdebla kaj komprenebla. La juĝantoj decidos kiom da poentoj forigi se vi forgesos sekvi regulon, sed ni kuraĝigas vin sendi vian filmon eĉ se vi forgesis kelkajn aferojn.
  24. JUĜANTOJ NE RAJTAS GAJNI: Neniu estrarano de Esperanto-USA nek nuna konkursa juĝanto nek iliaj familianoj rajtas gajni premion. Tamen ili rajtas sendi filmon por amuzo. Ili rajtas ankaŭ helpi aliajn filmfarantojn per informoj, ekz. konsiloj pri prononcado aŭ kiel lumigi apartan scenon aŭ doni rimedojn.
  25. ANONCOJ DE GAJNINTOJ: Ni anoncos la gajnintojn en novembro de 2025 en la Jutuba kanalo kaj la retpaĝoj de Esperanto-USA. La decidoj de la juĝantoj estos definitivaj. Al ĉiuj gajnintoj Esperanto-USA sendos premiojn ene de 30 tagoj post la anonco.
  26. ĈIUJ RAJTAS PARTOPRENI: Homoj el ĉiuj landoj estas bonvenaj kaj povas gajni. Homoj rajtas aperi en aŭ prilabori pli ol unu filmo, sed malsama reĝisoro estas bezonata por ĉiu filmo, kaj sole la reĝisoro estos la ricevanto de la premio se la filmo de tiu reĝisoro gajnas. Ĉiuj premioj estos en usonaj dolaroj.
  27. OFICIALECO DE REGULOJ: Laŭleĝe, nur la anglalingva regularo estas oficiala. Ni strebis liveri klaran kaj fidelan tradukon en ĉi tiu Esperantlingva regularo, sed laŭleĝe ĝi estas nur helpa, ne aŭtoritata. Se malgraŭ niaj klopodoj la du regularoj iel konfliktas, la anglalingva versio havas superecon.

Rimedoj

The American Good Film Festival encourages people to create films in the constructed language Esperanto, which was designed in 1887 to be the easiest language in the world to learn. Five judges chosen by the host will evaluate each submitted film and give out cash prizes to the top ten that they choose. Esperanto-USA will also give an audience choice award to the film that receives the most likes on YouTube.

Anyone can enter and there is no entry fee. Your film simply has to be less than five minutes long and entirely in Esperanto with at least ten unique spoken words and a visible required prop (to ensure that the film is newly made for this contest). The required prop this time is a bottle.

In previous years, virtually every film submitted was shown on our YouTube channel. To avoid presenting films with poor audio quality or incorrect grammar or pronunciation, our previous host assisted many filmmakers in translating their films and editing their audio levels and showing them which lines to record again to remove mistakes. As the festival has continued growing, offering that level of assistance is no longer feasible. Because of our growth, we are also in a position to be more selective about which films we decide to show. To that end, the judges will now select which films are shown on Esperanto-USA’s channel and those not selected by us are welcome to be submitted by their directors to other film festivals. 

This year, films are required to include a separate Esperanto subtitle file as part of their submission. In the past, the host and a few other volunteers individually typed and aligned subtitles for each film after the final deadline. This delayed the films appearing on YouTube as well as the announcing of the winners. This new policy will spread the workload more efficiently and speed up the winners receiving their prizes. Rules

  1. HOW TO ENTER: Each entrant should send an email with the subject heading “EPO107 – Name of Director” (for example, “EPO107 – John Smith”) to filmfestivalo@esperanto-usa.org. Put this information in the body of the email:

    Attach the script, the subtitles file, and all necessary talent release forms to that email. That email will serve as your official entry for this contest. If any of the above are missing, your entry will be considered incomplete and cannot be accepted.
  2. HOW TO SEND YOUR FILM: Films must be submitted electronically to filmfestivalo@esperanto-usa.org via Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer as an *.MP4 or *.MOV file. If your video file is sent via these methods using a different associated email address than the email address you used to submit your entry, please include the other email address in your entry email, or send a follow-up email with this information. If we cannot associate your entry email to your film due to mismatched email addresses, your entry will not be accepted.
  3. DEADLINE: The deadline to submit your film is 11:59pm EST on October 10th, 2025. Any films submitted after that time can still be shown but are ineligible to win any prizes.
  4. FILM TITLE AND FILE NAME: The film should be labeled as follows: EPO107_Title_of_Film.MP4 (so a film titled La Ĉapelo and exported as an *.MOV file should be labeled EPO107_La_Ĉapelo.MOV). The film’s title must be in Esperanto so that its correct pronunciation is internationally understood (Lydia, for example, is not allowed, but Lidia, which only uses Esperanto letters, is permitted).
  5. THE REQUIRED DIALOGUE: All dialogue must be in grammatically correct Esperanto and at least 10 audible Esperanto words must be used in the film. Proper nouns or repeating an Esperanto word do not count toward the necessary amount. A person who only speaks Esperanto should be able to understand the entire film.
  6. THE REQUIRED PROP: A spoon must be clearly visible somewhere in the film. No one has to mention it; it simply must be visible.
  7. CAMERA ORIENTATION: All films must be shot horizontally instead of vertically.
  8. FILM RESOLUTION: The film should be in high definition with a resolution of at least 1280 x 720 pixels (though 1920 x 1080 or 3840 x 2160 is preferred).
  9. FRAME RATE: Please use an NTSC frame rate of 23.98, 24, or 30 frames per second.
  10. FILM LENGTH: The film’s total length (including credits) must not exceed five minutes. There is no minimum length requirement.
  11. SUBTITLES: Your film must NOT contain on-screen subtitles that cannot be removed or deactivated because these films are meant to be listening practice for learning Esperanto. You must send subtitles to us in SRT or SBV files in Esperanto which we will upload separately so that they can be chosen later. Please use standard Esperanto letters when needed (Ĉ, Ĝ, Ĥ, Ĵ, Ŝ, Ŭ, ĉ, ĝ, ĥ, ĵ, ŝ, ŭ) instead of the X-system (Cx, Gx, etc.) in your subtitles. If you do not include an Esperanto subtitle file, your entry will be considered incomplete and will not be accepted. Including additional subtitle files in additional languages (English, Spanish, your native language) is encouraged but not necessary. The Esperanto-USA YouTube channel will have a tutorial video for creating a subtitles file if you need help.
  12. SUBMIT YOUR SCRIPT: Attach the script as a PDF with all the dialogue of the film so the judges can understand the story in case the audio is unclear. (The submitted script should be labeled EPO107_Title_of_Film_Script.pdf).
  13. CREDITS: While the title and all dialogue must be in Esperanto, the credits can be in any language and there is no requirement to include credits. Because some cultures place family names before personal names, Esperanto customarily uses all capital letters for the family name (for example, Mary Tyler MOORE and YANG Huaili). Feel free to incorporate that in your films for added specificity. Note that the words for a film’s Director and Editor are Reĝisoro and Muntisto, respectively, and are not the same words we use for the director of a bank or the editor of a newspaper.
  14. ANIMATED FILMS: You are welcome to use figurines, puppets, or other animation instead of actors on screen and the required prop can be animated.
  15. TALENT RELEASE: A signed talent release form is required for each person who appears (or whose voice is used) in the film. Use the same form for adding any original copyrighted music from a musician. For minors, a parent or legal guardian needs to sign on their behalf. Unidentifiable people such as in a crowd or a passing car do not require a form. Please label them “EPO107_Title_of_Film_TalentRelease1.pdf” for the first actor and “…TalentRelease2.pdf” for the second actor and so on. Download the release form. You can print, sign, and scan the document or complete it electronically for free using a program like LibreOffice Draw.
  16. INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT: Films containing sexually explicit, excessively violent, offensive, or vulgar content may be removed from consideration at the sole discretion of the judges and not shown on Esperanto-USA’s channels. You can send an email to filmfestivalo@esperanto-usa.org to check if a given word or scenario would be unwelcome.
  17. NEVER BEFORE SEEN: To remain eligible, the film cannot be available for online viewing before the judges have announced the winners. Do not upload the film publicly to YouTube or anywhere else until after that announcement.
  18. AGREE TO LET US SHOW YOUR FILM: By submitting a film, you agree that it may be uploaded onto Esperanto-USA’s various platforms such as their YouTube and Vimeo pages and that you possess all necessary rights and permissions to allow us to do that. Excerpts from the films may also be used as part of promotional materials for Esperanto-USA and their future film contests. You retain ownership of your film and may post it elsewhere after the judges have announced their final decisions.
  19. COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL: No copyrighted materials may be seen or heard in the film unless the filmmaker provides documentation of all necessary written permission to use that material. Material from the Creative Commons is permitted but all necessary attributions must be listed in the credits. Incidental use of a trademark for its intended purpose (such as a visible Nike logo on a character’s clothing or Toyota logo on a car) is permitted as long as the portrayal of that product is not negative or misleading, whereas wearing a full Spiderman costume or playing a song by The Beatles would not be permitted without written permission.   20. PUBLIC DOMAIN MATERIAL: Material that has entered the public domain in the United States is permitted. That means in 2024 the material needs to have been published before the year 1929. For example, you could perform a scene from Zamenhof’s translation of Hamlet (Hamleto, published in 1894) or perform your own original translation of Cole Porter’s 1928 song “Let’s Do It.”
  21. TAXES FOR WINNERS: Winners receiving cash prizes are solely responsible for payment of all applicable local, state, and federal taxes. Any necessary online transfer fees will be deducted from the total prize amount.
  22. ESPERANTO GRAMMAR REFERENCES: The reference guides for what is acceptable grammatically will be PMEG 2020, PIV 2020, and the 2010 edition of the English-Esperanto Dictionary by John C. Wells. Proper nouns and unofficial words like ri and ria are permitted, but not a word or structure listed as “evitinda” with asterisk marks in PMEG 2020 (such as far or graŭ) unless a character is directly commenting on how it is an unusual or improper expression. You can use the “(Duolingo and Other) Esperanto Learners” group on Facebook to find grammatical advice from experts but when in doubt, only use a word or expression that appears in at least one of those first three resources listed above.
  23. HOW FILMS ARE JUDGED: The five judges will individually choose their favorite films and those films will receive points. For example, the favorite film will receive 10 points, the second favorite will receive 9 points, and so on until their 10th favorite receives one point. The films with the most points overall from those five lists will be the winners. The films will be judged before subtitles are added so make sure your film is easy to hear and understand without needing to read the script or dialogue. The judges will decide how many points to remove if a rule is forgotten but we encourage you to send your film in even if you forget a few things.
  24. JUDGES CANNOT WIN: No board member of Esperanto-USA or current contest host or judge or any of their immediate family members may be eligible to win a prize, though they can still submit a film for fun and are allowed to assist other filmmakers with information such as providing pronunciation guidance.
  25. JUDGES’ ANNOUNCEMENT: Winners will be announced in November of 2025 on the Esperanto-USA website and the judges’ decision will be final. Esperanto-USA will send payment to each winner within 30 days of that announcement.
  26. EVERYONE CAN ENTER: People from all countries are welcome to participate and are eligible to win. People may appear in or work on multiple films and agree to split their winnings with the rest of their team, but a separate director is needed for each entry and that director alone shall be awarded the prize if their film wins. All prizes will be in US dollars and the official rules and announcements will be primarily in English per the bylaws of Esperanto-USA.
  27. OFFICIALNESS OF RULES: Legally, only the English version of the festival rules is official. We strove to clearly and faithfully translate every rule into Esperanto, but those wordings on that page are only meant as a helpful resource. The English version of each rule is the authoritative one where any differences can be found.
