Dankon

great1ok's picture

Dankon, al homoj por viaj bonaj vortoj. Mi sentas je hejmo jam en Esperantujo.

In English:

Thank you everyone for your good comments. I feel at home already in Esperanto Land.

Ok, I hope that came out right. I struggle with the accusative -n sometimes. If anyone knows a good thought or trick about how to get that down i would love to hear it.

Gxis revido,

Brad

Mia nomo estas Brad. Mi logxas en Oklahomo, Usono. Jeno estas unua mesagxo de mia blogo.

This is actually my first blog i have ever tried to write, I figured I would start it off in Esperanto. Feel free to correct me, I have only been studying for a few weeks, so i know i am not perfect. I hope this is the beginning of a great journey.

To anyone who is curious about learning Esperanto i recommend the website LERNU. The URL is: http://en.lernu.net

When you dont have internet connectivity Kurso 3 is a great program. This can be downloaded at:

Wondering about Publishing

global_gizzy's picture

I have been wondering for a few days now about publishing works in Esperanto.

I've checked Esperanto-USA and if there is anything here about publishing, then I missed it. My working knowledge of Esperanto is still very, very limited and so I wont even risk the embarrassment by 'declaring' that the same is true on the UEA site. But I'm just wondering how one would go about publishing something.

Koncerni Mi --- About Me

global_gizzy's picture

Here is some info about me.

My name is Asiya/Asija. (The Esperanto pronunciation of my name is perfect! Ah-See-ya! I love that!). I was born at home in Florida over 19 years ago. I'm the 3rd of 10 kids (7 boys and 3 girls). My oldest brother is 23 years and my youngest brother is 11 months.

I was a big tom-boy growing up; I loved to play video-games, outdoors and in the dirt. I was a very silly child who liked to run, jump, and yell. I liked to watch excitement as much as participate in it.

Esperantaj renkontiĝoj kun komencantoj

pbrewer's picture

En nia nova loka grupo estas ĉirkaŭ kvar personoj, kiu povas (pli-malpli bone) paroli Esperanton. Plue, estas ĉirkaŭ ok personoj, kiu estas komencantoj.

My History with Languages

global_gizzy's picture

Hi. Saluton.

My name is Asiya. Or Asija in Esperanto.

I'm a 19 year old african-american Floridian who has been interested in Foreign languages since I was little. My mom and dad are both bi-lingual. They learned 2nd languages as adults in college though they both speak them well. Oddly, even though I was homeschooled, my parents didn't make foreign language a priority for us.

Video Courses

Dachjo RUTAN's picture

Poking around YouTube, I recently got a look at two video based Esperanto Courses. The first one I found quite by accident. The other I actually looked for out of curiosity. I've failed to find any kind of review of these course (on the internet), so here's a few comments from what I saw:

Muzzy en Gondolando

Apparently a group in Poland produced this Esperanto version of Muzzy. It's actually quite good. The sound quality it steady, the video at times looks a bit faded(?) Heck, my daughter (not an Esperanto student) picked up a few terms in casual watching of the videos.

Iru al Hades!

Mi ĵus trovis ttt-paĝaron ege inteligentan. Tute profesi-nivela, profunde edukema, ĝi estas loko pri kio Esperanto-parolantoj povas...rajtas...fieri. Vidu:

Zamenhof en YouTube

Tim Westover's picture

Jen kurioza filmeto, en kiu parolas "D-ro Zamenhof."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlbBD01ccGY

Interesa provo. Kion oni opinias?

Esperanto = Preserving Minority Language?

Tim Westover's picture

In recent years, relatively speaking, the idea of Esperanto as playing a role in preserving and defending minority languages has become popular. On many occasions, I've made the same assertion (I wrote an article about it for this website). But I'm not sure I've ever solved in my mind how Esperanto would actually work in this role.
